BOROUGH OF VILLE-MARIE

This borough is the only one in Montreal, and no doubt in Quebec, to require a certified engineering plan for traffic if our trucks take up more than 3 metres in the street, which is common. Consequently, in many cases, owners in this borough cannot have the work done within a short time frame, due to the procedures to be followed in order to obtain the engineering plan.

In addition, owners must assume the cost of the engineer and the requirements for street signage, which unfortunately can cost several hundred dollars, or even more than $1,000 to $2,000. If you believe that this is unfair, we suggest that you contact your borough. Questions or comments? Contact us! Jacques Perron Published July 7, 2014
