RénoVert Tax Credit for encouraging ecofriendly renovation work
The Government of Quebec has brought a new project on the ground: The RénoVert tax credit. This tax credit has been introduced to encourage individuals to invest in eco-friendly renovation work, that is, that has a positive environmental or energetic impact on the planet.
A temporary initiative for homeowners or co-owners
Revenu Québec has put the RénoVert tax credit in place temporarily in order to push homeowners and co-owners into doing recognized renovation work on their property, or on a winterized cottage they normally occupy. The construction of the dwelling must have been completed before January 1, 2016, and the dwelling must be one of the following:

Claim up to 20% of your expenses
The maximum eligible amount for your residential renovation work claim is $10,000. This amount represents 20% of all the expenses over $2,500 that you paid before March 17, 2016, and before October 1, 2017.
